When you write your profile and describe the dance partner you are looking for, you can identify the type of event, the level of ability, the length of time (e.g. course), location, time available, type of dance, height, build, age. We also expect you to want to know about your dancer’s personality. In this section, we have included concepts that are important when dancing, so you can rate yourself on such things as irritability, patience, happiness, conscientiousness, confidence, self-consciousness, speed of learning. There is a also a space for you to put anything else that is important to you (e.g. no freckles or people with crooked noses).
This information will help inividuals find you when they search within your locality. THis information should be detailed within the following format:
City #1, City #2, City #3
When deciding what dances you can offer / would like to learn / want your dance partner to be able to dance, it is best if you narrow down the possibilities. If you feel compelled to highlight a lot of dance styles, say Ballroom, Tango, Ceroc, Latin, Jive, Disco, American Smooth, Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Cha Cha Cha, Hustle, Samba, Rumba etc, then it will help others if you give a bit more description in the open box about which you can and cannot do already, and which you like most of all.
To select more that one dance style, you can use one of the following methods:
Selecting Dance Styles Consecutively
You will see that all of the dance styles between your first and last preferred styles have been selected too.
Selecting Dance Styles in Non Consecutive Order
You will see that all of your preferred dance styles have been selected.
De-selecting Dance Styles
When assessing another person’s profile, try and keep an open mind. Things like age, build & looks are considerably less important than personality factors. People over the age of 50 can be equally as good dance partners as those who are 20; similarly with size. A person may be large but able to shake that body really well and have excellent timing and rhythm. Appearance, especially in photographs, can be deceptive, so try not to be too superficial in what you are looking for.
If you are looking for romance, there are plenty of other websites that you can browse. We want to keep our focus on the dancing, but if romance blossoms who are we to comment.
